Diagnostic Screening and Assessment of Neurodiverse Conditions For Adults and Post-16 Students
Service Description
Assessment of Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), with screening for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and traits of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with full written report and recommendations. Assessments take between 2.5 and 3 hours and are conducted in compliance with the guidelines set by the SpLD Standards and Assessment Committee www.SASC.ORG by an accredited Psychologist/Specialist Teacher Assessor registered with the British Psychological Society and/or other relevant professional body. SASC compliant neurodiversity assessments can be used to: • Enable clients to understand their own strengths and areas of difficulty, empowering them to develop strategies to support areas of difficulty and make choices based on their strengths. • Inform adjustments in the workplace to enable clients more equal access to work, including applications made under the Assess to Work Scheme • Support applications for educational adjustments including for Disabled Student Allowance which funds the provision of assistive technologies, one-to-one tutors and mentors, and other adjustments for students in higher education.
